The Experience of a Lifetime

Words cannot adequately describe the sense of satisfaction and fulfillment that comes from working directly with impoverished children. Their bright smiles, overwhelming gratitude and positive attitude are guaranteed to inspire anyone who pursues the experience of a Salesian Lay Missioner. The rewards are priceless and everlasting.

Salesian Lay Missioners (SLMs)

If you’re one of those special people who want to devote one to three years to make a remarkable difference, we invite you to learn more about becoming a Salesian Lay Missioner (SLM). SLMs are assigned to one of our missions – typically a school, youth center or parish – which operate in a wide variety of locations throughout the world. Our SLMs spend quality time teaching, guiding and counseling children and their families, as well as helping to brighten the life of depressed communities. They are part of a close-knit team of other Salesian missionaries, volunteers and lay staff working together to make the world a better place for those less fortunate.

Talk To Us … No Pressure

The choice to become a Salesian Lay Missioner is a serious consideration with great personal and spiritual rewards. We encourage you to learn more about the experiences of our SLMs and talk to one of our SLM advisors. We can answer your questions, provide guidance and establish a personal plan that is right for you. Through your decision-making process, please be assured that you can count on our full support without any pressure or obligation.

For further information, please contact Adam Rudin, Director of the SLM Program, at [email protected] or visit the Salesian Lay Missioners website.
