THE PROPERTY AND LOGISTICS
PROGRAM (PLP) is a service provided
to Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) overseas
aimed at (a) maximizing the impact
of donor-assisted programs and
grants worldwide and
(b) attending to emergency
humanitarian
needs in countries
where Salesians have
a presence.
These services are
carried out through
generous assistance
from government and
private sector partners
who contribute
tax deductible in-kind
donations and government excess property. Our Government partners
over the years have included the General Services Administration
(GSA), amongst others and our private partners have included World
Vision, Feed My Starving Children, Feed the Children, Mennonites,
GIK International and others.
Since its inception, Salesian Missions has received and distributed
donations with a Fair Market Value (FMV) of millions of dollars in U.S.
Government-issued excess property and corporate, in-kind donations
that have been used to enhance and/or restore Salesian works around
the world.
Our partners’ support is leveraged by assistance from the United
States Agency for International Development (USAID) Ocean Freight
Reimbursement Grant, allowing us increased capacity to deliver our
partners’ donations to those in the developing world.
With continued support, Salesian Missions continues to provide
complementary and necessary means through which those most
in need worldwide learn to become self-sufficient, contributing
members of society.
