Drought Emergency in Kenya: We Need Your Help
More than 300,000 men, women and children are on the brink of starvation right now in Kenya. Without immediate assistance, they will perish.
A catastrophic drought has gripped the north central region of the country -- depriving people, livestock and food crops of the water they need to survive. In fact, it hasn’t rained -- not one single drop -- in more than a year. And, as is sadly too often the case, the poorest of the poor are suffering the most.
The animals they depend on for food are dying. Their children are falling critically ill with intestinal diseases due to malnutrition and thirst. Parents, who have sacrificed their own meals in order to feed their children, are collapsing from starvation. And even the most basic staples for survival are difficult to obtain.
This is why our Salesian missionaries on the ground have mobilized to do what they can. Your gift today helps us purchase and deliver crucial aid -- rice, beans, cooking oil and water -- to the more than 4,800 families living in the affected area.
Thank you in advance for your kind compassion. Every dollar makes a difference.
It’s a heartbreaking situation: one that no one should endure. Will you help them today?
